Hello, Interactors! I apologize for the inactivity of this blog. Exams are rolling around for us, but that doesn't mean I will neglect my Interact Club duties! Thus, I'm back with a brief post about a recent event a few of our Interactors have participated in. And that is the 1Malaysia NGO's Charity Bowling Event!

It was held at Sunway Pyramid on the 17th of September 2011. Our Interact Club sent a team comprising of 4 of our Interactors to compete! Interactors Gigi, Hsu Huan and Eugene went to support our representative team as well! :D The event went well but unfortunately, our team didn't win. But what matters most is learning how to move as a team and work towards victory as victory is the sweetest when shared (:

On the brighter side, Interactor Edmund won runner-up as an individual player! Congratulations, Interactor Edmund~

Also, we congratulate the winners of this event. And thank you to all the other Interactors who participated and supported. We hope to be a part of another event like this in the future :D The following pictures are from the day of the event. Do enjoy!

6th Rotarian Installation dinner.

On 23rd of July 2011 was the 6th Rotarian Installation Dinner held at Hotel Seri Petaling from approximately 6:30PM until 11PM. A few of our Interactors are most delighted to have been a part of this special event.

The purpose of this Installation Dinner was to install the new President of Rotary Club of Seri Petaling, Mr. Peter Gan as well as the new Rotarians. The Interactors who were there to witness the Installation were Sook Mun, Adrian Kok, Gigi, Hsu Huan, Katherine, Eugene and lastly, Andrew Goh.

The night kicked off with the Installation of the new Rotarians and the Installation of incoming President of Rotary Club of Seri Petaling, Mr, Peter Gan. The Guest of Honour for the night was YB Teresa Kok who was invited to become a member of the Rotary Club.

Throughout the night, there were enjoyable programs such as lucky draws and karaoke sessions. The winner of the lucky draw was given an iPad 2. I'm sure everyone was envious!

Our Interactors certainly had fun at this memorable event. We would like to thank the Rotary Club of Seri Petaling for letting us be a part of this function. Lastly, congratulations to all the new Rotarians installed and the new President of Rotary Club of Seri Petaling, Mr. Peter Gan!

The 4th Installation, Interact Club of SMK Seri Saujana.

Greetings, fellow Interactors! I am here to blog about the 4th Installation of the Interact Club of SMK Seri Saujana. The event took place on Tuesday afternoon, 12th of July 2011 in the Dewan Akasia of SMK Seri Saujana.

There were approximately 60 people in attendance and the purpose of this function was to install the incoming Board of Directors of year 2011/2012 and not to forget, the new Interactors.

Incoming President Andrew Ng and Vice President Jasmine Lim leading everyone in the toasting to the King and Rotary International.

Moving on, we have the outgoing SAA Edmund John installing the incoming Sergeant At Arms, Interactor Adam Goh.

With that, President Andrew Ng would be the one leading his fellow Board of Directors and also the Interactors of SMK Seri Saujana's Interact Club in the second half of year 2011 and also the beginning of year 2012.

This was held a while back,

Thanks to interactors especially the BOD members for helping out :)

The interactors were suppose to walk around and help when necessary.
One of the jobs were to stand by to take the patients to the medication table.There were 8 specialists doctor from Taiwan that came that day to help out voluntarily and also to give free consultation and free medication.

There were ENT (ear, nose, throat), internal medicion, surgery, orthopedist, neurology, dentistry and more.

The bus reached the school around 8am :)

The first task was to smoothen the surface of all the tables and chairs using sandpaper.

The rotarians helped out as well :)

Hey interactors!

For those who attended the first AGM (I'm sure almost everyone went, right?) would know that we will be doing some community work ; we will be helping SJK(T) Ladang Bukit Jalil to paint their tables and chairs ;)
ARE YOU GUYS EXCITED?! :D

For those who have signed up but weren't able to get the details right, here :

Time: 8am - 1pm
Dress code: Interact shirt/school's shirt with track bottom/jeans
Things to bring: gloves

As for transport, dont worry, we will be arranging the transport from our school to the school itself so you just have to come to school earlier (latest 7.45am!) and we'll be going there by bus.
~~We're still not sure whether lunch is provided but bring some pocket money just in case, all right? :)~~

Update: Change of time ; Water will be provided but not lunch. There's a mamak shop nearby though ;)

We did not did not bring about world peace, neither did we reverse global warming nor reduce poverty in the world. We the Rotary Club of Sri Petaling did not do any of that, but we managed to bring joy and laughter to a group of young children from various orphanages in town, at least for this one day, and we are proud of it. Like our PDG Ken Khoo mentioned in his speech, the festive season is not only about receiving gifts and well wishes, it is also about giving. This children party was just a small present we gave to the children, to show them that there are people out there who cares.

Quoted from Rotary Club of Sri Petaling :) That was really meaningful. You guys really made a LOT of children happy that day, you even made us, all 6 of us experienced things we never did.

The ones that attended were Interactor Char Nie, Int. Chee Hoe, Int. Edmund, Int. Aaron, Int. Christopher and Int. Char Lie. Sorry to those who wanted to come, but there weren't enough seats. And, thank you so much Rotarian Ivy for fetching all of us there!

The interactors were there at 1U early, we waited for the arrival of the special guests, the adorable kiddos :)

we were asked to help tie that string on their wrists. That's Aaron by the way! :D We also noticed that there were three different versions of tees that were given to them and they were between 6-12 ages only.

This very smart rotarian prepared clips for the little girls and they were all fighting for it, haha.

Interactors very busy, huh. :p

after that, they were brought to Starship Galatica :D

and then, to burgers king! thanks a lot to them because they sponsored the burgers to these kids and also to us, interactors :D and it was delicious!

this kid played the guitar to everyone while they were busy eating, and received a lot of claps!

then, the interactors performed.

the kiddos showing their talent. they received a lot of attentions by the shoppers and passers-by on that day, everyone amazed at them.

finally, the last show that day was by 1U itself, it was a musical play about an old man who didn't like christmas and an angel appeared showing him the meaning of christmas.

and that is all that happened on that eventfuld day! everyone went home with a smile even us.

That definitely was the true meaning of Christmas :)

53rd District Interact Conference

Date : 3rd December - 5th December 2010

Venue : Royale Bintang Resort, Seremban ( yes, we actually get to stay in a 4-star hotel! :D )
Host Club : Rotary Club of Seremban

There were over 800 participants from all over Malaysia and three foreigners too, from Nigeria, Korea and also Japan.

7 members from our club participated and a great thanks to the rotary club of Seri Petaling for sponsoring us with some of the registration fees! It was a great experience there and not only do we get to know more friends, we get to learn a whole new, different stuffs. There were experienced speakers giving us talk in all the 12 sessions.

President Char Lie, Vice President Chee Hoe, Treasurer Mickey, Community service, Aaron Tan, IU Director, Sabrina Chan, Funding Director, Chan Sook Mun and S.A.A Edmund Sibert went. And, this event is not open to only B.O.D's, it's open to any interactors that is interested to join :)

All the presidents present there were supposed to changed their seats to a table with interactors you don't know. This is a very cool idea haha, because you actually learn to lead a group of unknown people and there were, a lot of presidents there. Some of the table actually have more than one president.

The first day was messy because the hotel rooms aren't ready yet for some of the interactors. Luggages and bags were everywhere in the lobby. Only towards the end of the day, everything got sorted out and because some interactors got their rooms late, they didn't get to bath and change before the next session arrived.

Rotarian Advisor, Mr Lawrence came to drop us a visit on the second day :)
P. CharLie, F.D Sook Mun, T. Mickey and IU. Sabrina got a room together on the seventh floor while the three other guys got a room on the sixth floor.
this is the view from the girl's hotel room. There is actually a swimming pool but none of us got to swim because everyday was busy busy.

Each president were given an attendance sheet so as to make sure none of the interactors skip any session. :) It was smart of them to do so because there WERE some interactors that were planning to do that haha.

There were also a Rakan COP exhibition there so during breaks, interactors were allowed to have a look there.

This were the interactors we sat with during the formal night and they were all very nice, friendly people. :D

This was taken during the formal night. At the end of the night there was a dancefloor and it lasted until midnight. :D the dancefloor was great and the rotarian was being very lenient, extending the time for us! THANK YOU so much because it caused you guys a great deal of trouble! I guess that was the most memorable event throughout the whole Conference. Interactors were just dancing up there, on the stage :D

Sorry, not much photos were taken because our Data Director who's in charge for taking pictures weren't present :p Food were provided from breakfast until supper- so no worries of getting hungry!

The were 12 sessions throughout the three days and we were taught of something different every time. :) For me, I enjoyed the speaker who taught us the right position to sit and to stand!

42nd District Interact Conference 2010

Dengue Awareness Campaign

Time: 9:30am-11.45am
Venue: OUG

Due to the recent outbreak of the Dengue fever in OUG, DBKL and the residents in OUG are very concerned and worried about the situation. Hence,Gotong Royong was suggested.

This Gotong Royong was jointly organized by Rukun Tetangga OUG and Rotarian Club Seri Petaling with the assistance from the Health Department of DBKL. There were a total of 10 Rotarians and Anns from RC Sri Petaling, 20 Interactors from SMK Seri Saujana Seri Petaling and about 10 members from Rukun Tetangga OUG Zone E and G participated in this project.

The main aim of the Gotong Royong is to distribute the flyers(checklist of the possible water log areas in the house) from door to door in order to inform and educate the residents about the great importance of eradicating the breeding grounds of the mosquitoes. Meanwhile,there were also DBKL trucks collecting any unwanted containers outside of the houses.

The participants were divided into 5 groups, and every group was headed by the members of OUG Rukun Tetangga. The briefing for the Gotong Royong was conducted by Dr. Umi from the Health Department of DBKL @ the Pondok of Rukun Tetangga OUG.

This drain is clogged in front of a row of houses and the water is not flowing. Definitely the best place for the mosquitoes to breed :o

After the walk, Interactors cleaned up the compound of the Rukun Tetangga as well :)

Seri Saujana International Understanding Day Report!

안녕하세요(hello)!!!

For this year IU day, the club of interact Seri Saujana visited the Korea Plaza.
Due to some difficulties, we are unable to make our IU day open like other school, but the club
committee are trying to make one next year! We also apologize for the ~~extremely-tight-schedule-day~~
~~-for-even~~t and thank our committed members to join along.

Back to the IU, our school member went to Menara Hap Seng by bus, and our ~~ever-so-funny~~ interactor
Boon Sing bring up the atmosphere(~~mind you,form 3 and 4 are having our exam week~~). Reaching the place
around 2.30p.m.,by time everyone register themself in korea plaza.

At there, our Korean translator begin by giving us the briefing to the club's foundation and membership
of Korea activities are given at RM20. The translator ALSO TRIED to let the interactors learn about basic
language, but most of the interactors kinda know it for thanks to some Korea Drama.

Next, is the attention catcher food lying next to the interactors the moment we entered! Tagging the translator
is a Koreo Food Sifu who give us lesson to Kimbab. Interactors and teachers are given chance to roll
their way to food and share with everyone! For person who are lazy to press the link, kimbab is a kinda
identical to sushi we ate, only with many fillings unlike sushi who only have 1. Lots of kind of making
is experienced by the interactors, as if in the shape or the food fillings variation by the maker. We also
savored a kind of curry-alike-with-chee-cheon-fung and some of the interactors 'tapau' them back!

Finally, is none other then the Han-bok session. Interactors also wear the traditional costume and take
pictures. The session was short due to rush-time but everyone was fun enjoying the process of wearing
or helping to wear. And then before departure, we also take pictures in front of the Korea Plaza.

International Understanding Day - Catholic High School

This year, the Interact Club of Catholic High School PJ under Organizing Chairperson, Int. Ng Jin Ee, is bringing you a phenomenal production, an awareness and a journey of learning, all about , yeap you guessed it, Incredible India!

For us, this is something so very meaningful. Being a Chinese dominated school, to come up with an IU Day about India, a country with a total opposite culture, is as exciting as can get. Not only are we going to take you on a journey, creating an awareness about this Incredible Country, introducing you to every corner of its culture and allowing you into the hearts of the people, we're going to bring you closer, to every single Indian friend you have around you.

But alas, we shall save the rest (and the best) for the day!

So come, with a body, mind and soul for a day full of music and dance.

SUCCESS: 1st General Meeting 2010

Congratulation!
We've successfully had our Saujana Interact FIRST General Meeting smoothly this year, 2010!
A round applause to EVERY B.O.D and ALL the newcomers & the interactors!

This year, 2010,
We will use another way, which is a more cherished, cheerful and in a happy way,
to make sure everyone's connected in Seri Saujana Interact Club!

The attendees are satisfying as it occupy the whole Media room which is small (erhem), and the total amounts of attendees were around 50 and more! It's more than we aim for it! :D

We had everyone introduce themselves and next, very not surprisingly, the B.O.D had prepare a game called 'Obama' during March holiday, the game rules are as following:

firstly, we'll pick a random interactor and paste a note with artiste/actor/character names on it,
secondly, we'll show to the other interactors which are opposite.
thirdly, the interactor will ask question such as "Is it a guy?" or "Is it an actress" or More, but the other interactors can only answer a Yes, or No.
fourthly, only 10 questions are to be allow to ask. *hint/dance are to be given after 5questions down
fifthly, those who answered, good job; those who couldn't answered, currently we did not face that so no punishment! :P

After Club Service, Wee Jien explained the game rules, the lucky first guy WAS?!?!?! Justin Ng, our beloved SAA.
to guess: Michael Jackson, Taylor Lautner, Taylor Swift, The Hulk, Barney, Mr. Bean, Lady Gaga!
And the game move on until 3pm with non stop claps & laughter's.

After that, the game ended & after announcing the activities, the general meeting is dismissed.

Accompaniment - Recorded track please not include lead vocal.
Talent Categories - May not included more than three single instruments or full drum sets. Lip sync is STRICTLY not allowed.
Selection - Selections must be appropriate for family audience.
Time Limit - Performances must not exceed five minutes, with one minute for set-up, if any.
Performers will be judged on stage presence, presentation, talent and overall artistic impression.
All entry fees must be submitted not refundable in the event of cancellation through illness or other midadventure affecting the entrant, sorry.
ACTS RUNNING OVER 5 MINUTES WILL BE DISQUALIFIED!
Baton-twirlers or similar acts using batons, machetes, knives etc. will not be accepted. No fire will be allowed on stage at any time.
No voice or voices or synthesized vocal utterance may be used for accompaniment by contestants entered in the Vocal categories. This includes recorded live voices and voices that are produced and recorded synthetically. (i.e. synthesizers or digitally sampled.)
Presentation, 25%; Creativity, 25%; Clarity, 25% and Ability, 25%.

So! the Saujana Interactors had participated in Victoria Institution Annual Treasure Hunt 2010, and we proudly announce that we had 4 teams with 5 peoples per team, among them they received the number 9th, 11th, 19th position!

I love all of you guys! All of you sure pay off the hard working and kept on rushing for a new location & to meet another base-master!

So, basically, every one of us has to gather at Sri Petaling lrt station around 7.30am and pace off to Victoria Institution, everyone were spontaneous and excited when we reached VI. We're the 2nd school team whom reach around 8.12am *jiggles and jump*

There's 30schools whom participated, every team had registered once they reach and the treasure hunting activity started around 9.30am! The opening ceremony was once again announce by the rotarian & the organizer. Once we received tasks, off we go!

Lunch break at KLCC around 1.30pm and the VI's treasure hunt had a round off around 5pm! The winning teams are from MBS & St. Joint! *clap clap claps!*

A very good, good job to the VI interactors! You should receive a round applause from we interactors, you guys are super powerful with the ending shouts! HuHah!

41st District Interact Conference

Greetings Interactors!

Sorry that our blog gone ~~MIA~~ even though it's already 2010, but hey, no more sad case now! We'll update the blog frequently to keep it active and more to go!

The B.O.D had discussion through emails & gathering to discuss about few topics, but mainly we're discussing about 41st District Interact Conference, 2009.

We'd receive information about this highly-participated Conference around May & we confirm through the Rotarians about the confirmed mini details, and this is it:

41st District Interact Conference 2009

Date: 10th of December - 12th of December, '09

Host Club: Rotary Club of Klang

So, now let the photo's do the group photos.

There is roughly 100 schools from national wide in Malaysia participated and roll calling were exciting too! The best part of this Conference that made ALL of the Rotarians & Interactors gone wild was Talentime! Which every 12 groups have to perform to get points for their team to get victory! Instead, the scene was fulfilled with screams, supports, laughters non-stop!

After coming back from DIC, every interactors gave good feedback & most of them Are enjoying this experience very much too. Mostly all of the interactors exchange & still keep in contact through Facebook, Emails & MSN to remain friendly and keeping in touch too. As for our school, this is the 2nd years for the BOD to participate in this socializing-much Conference. It's our utmost pleassure to attend this event!

Numerous speeches was given by the Rotarians, experts with professional level too. It's the greatest time to receive rare knowledge & side-seeing through the proud acknowledgement that the experts pass down by sharing!

Looking forward for 2010's Conference, hopefully all of the Saujana Interactors could make it!

This is a formal event, organized by Rotarians. Purpose of this is for training leadership in interactors. Members will be seperated into groups ( eg. president, director of community....... ) Members of other schools will attend also.

Our club took part in the library month's tables' of clubs competition. So, our rotarians got a look at it.

They commented :
Our table is good. Well done, for students. We have showed Good effort. The words are quite small, only school students can read them eh? hahaha. Can do better. More information would help to improve. The " service above self " and " why join interact ? " were most visible.

They suggested :
1. Put information about the Rotarians
2. History of Interact Club ( eg. Dc Mahathir , Pageants )
3. Update photos / activities frequently ( next activity should be our installation )
4. Add slogan " Non religious " , " non political "
5. Some certain pictures ( joshua lying on the ground & amanda and gang group pic, no offence aite ?) isn't so approprite.

Today Rotarian Ong, Rotarian Lawrence and Rotarian Henry came to our school. Their arrival was purposed to discuss about the upcoming Interact Installation. They gave us a few wise suggestions. Below are the updated information

What is Interact?

Interact stands for International Action.Interact is Rotary International’s service club for young people ages 14 to 18. Interact clubs are sponsored by individual Rotary clubs, which provide support and guidance, but they are self-governing and self-supporting.

Club membership varies greatly. Clubs can be single gender or mixed, large or small. They can draw from the student body of a single school or from two or more schools in the same community.

Each year, Interact clubs complete at least two community service projects, one of which furthers international understanding and goodwill. Through these efforts, Interactors develop a network of friendships with local and overseas clubs and learn the importance of
